Student's Corner #7 - "Just Dance"

"Dancing is more than taking simple steps, it is a way to express yourself. Good dancers don't dance just to earn money, they dance because they like to, more than that, they LOVE dancing!

I have been dancing, classical ballet, since I was 2 years old. I really love dancing any style and with so many years of training I plan to be a famous dancer someday. Out of the classrooms and on to Stages.

That was a little about dancing, Hope you enjoyed it!

"I love Supernatural and I watched all seasons. I love it because the story is very intriguing, interesting and I can see guns, fights, blood, etc.

Supernatural is great to watch alone when you're having a bad night. It's a series for thos who enjoy Horror movies and mythology. I am very anxious for the next season."

Student's Corner #5 - Movie Review: Glee 3D - The Concert Movie

"The Glee 3D Concert Movie is so cool. It shows the Glee 'loser' being winners. They are the best and invicible to me. I love them!

The movie also shows several people with diferent problems that are inspired by Glee.

M favorite singer is Rachel. she is intelligent and sexy at the same time. She is also creative and for me she is the best. All the singers are very good, I love them all.

I think the movie was fabulous and you should watch it!

"Hi, How are you? I'm here to tell you how I think Justin Bieber's concert will be. I really am a big fan of his and I think that this show will be the best thing thst happens in my life.

Student's Corner #3 - Rock In Rio 2011

Olá para todos =)

Esse fim de semana o tão esperado Rock In Rio 2011 começou e como muitas outras pessoas, alguns dos meus queridos alunos foram ou vão na proxima semana ao festival.

Aqui vai o que eles tiveram a dizer antes dele começar:

"The long awaited Rock In Rio will start on Friday, September 23rd. All tickets are sold out. With well planned organization, ranging from the place that will hold the festival to a proper transportation system, Rock In Rio will be an event to remember.

International singers and bands, such as Guns N' Roses, Lenny Kravitz, Elton John, Metallica, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Red Hot Chilly Peppers and Coldplay will perform during the seven-days festival. Some Brazilian attractions are also confirmed, like: Jota Quest, Ivete Sangalo, Cláudia Leita, NX Zero and others.

Rocki In Rio will end on October 2 and promises to be a success!"

Quando e Como Usar o SIMPLE PRESENT:

Hábitos e Rotina:

I usually get up at 7 o'clock.

She doesn't often go to the cinema.

When do they usually have lunch?

Fatos:

The Earth revolves around the Sun.

What does 'strange' mean?

Water doesn't boil at 20°.

Sentimentos:

I love walking around late at night during the summer.

She hates flying!

What do you like? I don't want to live in Texas.

Opiniões e Estado Mental:

He doesn't agree with you.

I think he is a wonderful student.

What do you consider your best accomplishment?

Agenda:

The train doesn't arrive until 10.35.

Common present time expressions include:

usually, always, often, sometimes, on Saturdays, at weekends (on weekends US English), rarely, on occasion, never, seldom

Structure

In the positive form add an 's' to the base form of the 3rd person singular. If the verb ends in -y preceded by a consonant, change the -y to -ies.

eat lunch at noon.

She tries to have fun.

It eats lunch at noon.

Conjugate the Auxiliar verb 'do' not (don't and doesn't) the base form of the verb to make negatives.

They don't leave at noon.

He doesn't leave at noon.

She doesn't leave at noon.

It doesn't leave at noon.

Conjugate the auxiliar verb 'do' (do or does) the base form of the verb in question forms.

Music Minute #1 {Entertainment Tips!}: "Perfect" - Pink!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to our Blog!

Today I want to talk about one of my favorite singer's newest and most amazing songs, Perfect by Pink.

This song is all about overcoming adversities and being the best that you can be, despite life and other people bringing you down.

"Perfect" is an original song that came out in Pink's greatest hits album in 2010.

The video of "Perfect" is just as awesome as the song! It makes use of very strong and shocking images to make a point about teenage bullying and never giving up on a better future.

"I really liked the new rap song by Lil' Wayne. The song is called "How to Love". I found it very interesting, because this music clip explains how difficult was with his parents.

The clip begins with Lil' Wayne's mother about to have an abortion, but she changed her mind and fled. Lil' Wayne's beat his mother up, she would fight back and Lil' Wayne would watch it all when he was only 2 years old.

Lil' Wayne decided to make this clip because he wanted to share his pain."

English Tips! {#1} - Classroom Language {#1}

Boa Tarde para todos!

Aqui estou eu com a minha Primeiríssima "English Tips" no blog =)

Para começar com o pé direito, quero dar uma forcinha para tanto os alunos mais antigos como os mais novos e dar umas dicas de expressões e frases que vocês podem usar em sala de aula para evitar ao MÁXIMO falar Português!

Vou lista-las com o USO do lado esquerdo e a frase ou expressão do lado direito...

Não entendeu o que foi falado - "I don't understand!"

Quer que o professor repita - "Can you repeat that, please?"

Quer saber como dizer alguma frase ou palavra em Inglês - "How can I say ________ in English?"

Quer saber o significado de alguma palavra ou expressão - "What's the meaning of ______?" ou "What does _________ mean?"

Quer avisar que acabou o dever - "I've finished the exercise"

Quer pedir ajuda - "Can you help me, please?"

Quer saber como soletrar uma palavra - "How do you spell ______?"

Quer saber como escrever uma palavra - "How do you write ______?"

Quer ir beber água - "May I go drink some water?"

Quer ir ao banheiro - "May I go to the restroom?"
